An Autumn Wedding in Buckinghamshire

The English autumn weather can be grey, but that doesn’t stop couples having a fabulous wedding day full of fun and colour in the historic English county of Buckinghamshire.  An overcast day is easier to photograph in some respects as there are no harsh shadows on peoples faces, but it can also result in rather flat, dull images.  The main antidotes to this are to place your subjects in positions where the light still comes from one direction (e.g. under a porch, or the edge of a tree) or to add artificial light (e.g. flash).  The photos in this wedding used natural light almost exclusively except for the evening indoor shots (speeches, cake cutting, dancing etc.).  This tends to result in simple, elegant images which is what this bride and groom wanted for the record of their special day.
